Couples Counselling
When working with a couple in therapy my aim is to provide you with a safe, private space to explore any issues or concerns within your relationship. Whether you’re facing communication challenges, navigating conflicts, or struggling with intimacy, couple counselling offers a unique opportunity to gain new perspectives of each other and learn new ways of being together. This is often enabled by improving communication and exploring differences, conflict styles, intimacy and identifying both partners wants and needs.
If you are looking for relationship support in Godalming or Headley I offer a welcoming, compassionate space to support you in your journey towards a healthier, more fulfilling partnership. My role as your therapist is to support you both in a caring and non-judgemental way, to facilitate good communication between you and help you find the way forward that is right for each of you.
I offer a free 20 minute assessment appointment for couples therapy (ideally online via zoom but can be by telephone). This is an opportunity for us to meet and for you to briefly share the issues that bring you to counselling so we can decide if I am the right therapist to support you. If we decide to proceed and arrange the first session, I will email you both some forms to complete individually and return to me in advance of our appointment.
I would normally see you both together for the first session, then individually for a 50 minute session each. After this we will come back together for regular weekly 50 minute sessions. Making this commitment to attending a regular weekly appointment does enable our work together to be its most helpful and effective. We will regularly review your progress together and when appropriate work towards and ending of the therapy.
